We all want to make sure our children are getting a balanced diet – as they progress from toddlers to teenagers there nutrition needs change and as parents we want to ensure we are aware of this to keep them healthy. The food standards agency recommends that from 12months old a babies diet should include:
- Starchy foods such as bread, rice, potatoes, pasta
- Plenty of fruit and vegetables
- At least one or two servings of protein rich food such as meat, fish, eggs or beans
- Milk and dairy products
- Very small amount of food/drink that may be high in sugar and fat
This diet should change to accommodate there growing needs when your child is between:
- 4 and 6 years old
- 7 and 10 years old
- 11 and 15 years old
