Looking after your contact lenses

Around three million people in the UK wear contact lenses and if your one of them you’ll understand how difficult it is to look after them without worrying about causing infection and log term damage to your eyes. Conjunctivitis is one of the most common eyes infections that individuals who wear contact lenses are prone to. Additionally it’s another challenge to keep your eyes looking fresh as there is a tendency for dryness especially if your wearing lenses everyday all day!

By looking after your lenses ensuring that there clean will help make them more comfortable when wearing. You need to ensure that your hands are washed before taking them out or putting them in – this will ensure that the risk of infection is minimised. If you wear makeup its best to put them in before hand, this way you avoid touching them with greasing lotion fingers etc and you can see what your doing when applying eye makeup. If you feel that there is some un-comfort on your lenses it’s always best to take them out and then wash thoroughly in your solution before putting them back in.
