Type of Fats

There are two main types of fat- saturated and unsaturated.  Eating foods that are high in saturated fat can raised the bad cholesterol levels in the blood.  Foods that are high in saturated fats are sausages, pies, fried fast food, butter, full fat dairy, cakes, and chocolates.

These need to be swapped to unsaturated fats - these actually reduce the cholesterol levels.  Foods that contain saturated fats need to be replaced by that of polyunsaturated fats - e.g. sunflower oil, Soya oil and corn oil. Also monounsaturated fats  Olive oil and olive oil based spreads.
