There are a number of female conditions that may be helped by reflexology. In most cases the reflexes to be worked are very similar and the following complaints have been grouped in this way. The ovary reflexes are found on the outer side of the foot just below the ankle. On the hand these are found a little way beyond the wrist. In this way all areas of the body are reflected in the hands and foot of a person.
- Amenorrhoea - lack o menstruation
- Endometriosis - occurrence of endometrial cells normally found in the womb causes pain and bleeding
- Fibroid - a benign tumour of the uterus that may cause pain bleeding and urine retention
For these and related conditions the general procedures should be to spend time on the specific female reflex which in these cases is the uterus. In addition the endocrine land reflexes should be massaged and to provide a balanced treatment the reflexes for the other reproductive organs. Further areas to concentrate on would be the urinary and circulatory systems and the central nervous system with the solar plexus.
