Colour therapy is closely links with and usually practised in conjunction with aura healing, the idea behind Colour therapy dates back to ancient civilisation, when Greeks and Egyptians are believed to has chosen the colour of their temple adornments for their beneficial effects on the mind, body and spirit.
Colour therapy is still practise today in Tibet and India, where Monk wear orange robes, due to the colours spiritual properties, it has been long since proven that just as smell in aromatherapy, colours affect people both psychologically and physically, therapist believe that specific maladies can be treated and cured by adjusting the colour input to the body, believing that the body absorbs the electromagnetic energy emitted from different colours which vibrate as specific patterns.
The main colours used in colour therapy are as follows:
- Red – Can be helpful in the treatment of circulatory problems, low blood pressure and anaemia.
- Orange – Can be effective for complaints involving the chest and digestive system.
- Yellow – Can be used to help sufferers of skin complaints and nervous conditions.
- Green – Can be used to treat stress, headaches and emotional disturbances.
- Blue – Can have a calming effect on the mind and can be used to help ease fevers.
- Violet – can be helpful in treating rheumatism, epilepsy and nervous disorders.
