We all want our children to be in the best of health every day but during winter they seem to have colds more often. There really is not a cure for cough and colds and even your doctor will tell you to let nature takes it’s course. However there are a few tips which may help your little ones stay healthy!

• After playing, before meals and after going to the toilet ensure your child washes his/her hand thoroughly with soap and warm water. This ensure germs don’t travel and greatly cut out the risk of passing and picking up infections.

• Eating fruit and vegetables every day helps support the immune system. By giving children different types of fruit and of different colours it makes it more fun for them to eat.

• For children who are fussy eaters they may need extra vitamins in the form of multivitamin supplements. More so if they are between 6 months and 5 years old.

• To stop children getting dehydrated ensure they drink plenty of water. This also helps their body’s defences to work well. Avoid fizzy drinks and fruit squashes which are in sugar.
