Taking regular breaks is the way to stay healthy in an office
Many office workers these days are glued to their computer screens from the moment they arrive first thing in the morning, right through until they leave at the end of the day, possibly with a break for lunch – which is usually eaten at the desk while staring at the computer.
Therefore, it is no wonder that the majority of these people, unless they do a decent amount of exercise before or after work, are unhealthy as their bodies are not using as much energy as their intake each day.
If you feel that you are one of these people, or at least admit you don’t get up out of your seat often enough, then the way to combat this is to ensure that you make time to take a break every now and again. It is actually a legal requirement to take frequent breaks from your screen so you mustn’t ever feel guilty in doing so.
Whether the respite is to go and speak to a colleague instead of emailing or phoning them from the next room, getting water from the cooler, or making use of the Flavia Vending Machines placed around the office, by grabbing yourself a coffee, tea or hot chocolate, the choice is up to you.
